A Letterboxd for YouTube videos

Letterboxd made it normal to keep a record of the films you watch: rate them, write a few lines, make lists, see what friends thought. Many of the best things people watch now are on YouTube: documentaries, essays, lectures, recipes, long interviews. Letterboxd is built around films, and most YouTube videos aren't in it. Krater is built for them.

What's the same idea. A library of what you've watched and what you want to watch. Ratings out of five stars, in half stars. Reviews, short or long. Lists, public or just for you. Members to follow, and their reviews in your feed.

What's different. Any YouTube video can go in: share it from the YouTube app or paste its link. Videos play on YouTube, never in Krater. And because nobody remembers a video's title, you can ask Krappy, Krater's assistant, to find one from what it was about.

Private until you choose. Your reviews and lists stay "Only me" until you choose to share them, and search engines don't list your public pages unless you say yes.

Krater is free on the App Store for iPhone and in your browser at joinkrater.com. You must be 18 or older.

Krater isn't affiliated with Letterboxd, and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google.
