What it concludes
- Coating over paint always causes bubbles because mud is a porous surface over a non-porous surface, so the trapped air has nowhere to go; the work around is to quickly skim it all out.
- If you can see your tape through the mud, you haven't put enough mud on.
- It doesn't matter how you put the mud on, it only matters how it looks after you take it off.
- When coating corners, it is easier to get both sides coated at the same time and fine-tune the corner when you have mud on both sides.
- A 6-inch knife is the best all-round tool when it comes to taping and finishing drywall.
