Answers: How do you stretch your glutes without straining your lower back?
- glute stretch
- gluteus maximus
- hip rotators
- tight glutes
- hip mobility
Exercises
- figure four glute stretch · wall · 30 seconds to a minute, 1-2 times a day for a couple of weeks
What it concludes
- Lying on your back with one leg crossed over the other while pulling the knee in stretches the glute, but lateral hip rotation limits maximum glute activation.
- Bridging your glutes up and pressing your feet against a wall while in a figure-four position allows you to properly maximize the glute stretch and avoid lower back strain.
- If you feel pinching in the groin or inner thigh during the stretch, you may need to alter the stretch before attempting this exercise.
- Consistently performing the wall glute stretch for 30 seconds to a minute once or twice a day over a couple of weeks helps eliminate tightness in the hips.
